These complex, rich and colourful artworks are the result of Martin's unique screen-printing style. He eschews digital and photographic processes. Instead, he favours creating his stencils by painting directly onto the screen. This allows the prints to become layered, like paintings, in a style inimitably his own. There is a whimsy and humour to some of the work while another aspect sees him transforming familiar locations and events into slightly surreal, hallucinatory, haunting and melancholic realms.
